Who are we?
Cape Maclear Learning and Development was founded by a team of volunteers living in Cape Maclear, Malawi.
Comprised of residents from the UK, Ireland and Malawi, we work with the local community to identify top-performing students who would otherwise be unable to afford higher education, then use the generous donations of oversees internationals to provide scholarships and ongoing support to ensure students achieve their dreams of a higher education degree.

We use our network of friends in Malawi to identify students we think are the perfect candidates for funding.
We also work with the local chiefs to see who they would recommend, as well as to be respectful of Malawian tradition. Find out more about the selection process here. -

Single donations are incredibly useful and can be put towards things like study materials (pens, paper, text books etc), as well as providing resources like laptops and tablets, and supporting students for any extra-curricular activities (field trips etc).
If you’d like to make a single one-off donation to our charity, visit our donations page.
